there at the same time as uh the funny guy there was in yeah he he’s a special guy man I mean his the way that he takes care of his [Music] body uh James baxton left-handed pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers it was special you know I think just like my journey hasn’t been smooth you know I lost injuries and stuff like that so just being able to come back from and continue getting better over that time and my ability to compete stayed there and uh it’s just a big milestone for me it is it is a goal you know I mean you think you get to the you get to the league and everyone talks about getting in 10 years you know it seems so far away and uh to to be there myself is really really [Music] special I think so um iwakuma okay I think I played with Ichiro I know he’s around Seattle I think we might have been on Team at the same time um obviously now sh yoshinobu and uh Yoshida in uh in Boston are there more there are oh man um I feel like there’s another one in Seattle there at the same time as uh and the funny guy that was in yes yes that guy I mean he’s so funny man he did interviews and stuff like that great locker room guy he was awesome oh yeah that’s right yep I as well oh and of course Tanaka yes how did I miss Tanaka yeah oh and Kikuchi man I played with a lot more Japanese players than I thought I feel that’s pretty good that’s quite a few I can’t remember either you know um like I can barely I can’t even remember all the players that I played with um I can’t remember the details of what uh what happened with him in 2018 yeah he he’s a special guy man I mean his the way that he takes care of his body is really amazing I mean he he does a lot of the stuff that you see uh Yamamoto doing you know uh down gym and stuff with his guys I know e Ro doing some of the same things he had some some very specific exercises that he would do he took care of himself obviously ate well and uh worked so hard you know on the field I mean he was a guy that just like did it all it was just really amazing to watch remember talking with Kikuchi quite a bit we talked about his fastball it’s like how good his fastball was I know in uh in Seattle was getting a little bit cutter heavy and we were talking about his fast ball and just how good it was I think I think he started throwing more more fast balls once he got to Toronto and obviously he’s pitching fantastic he’s doing great so that’s been really great to see um think of other guys that I’ve talked to along the way Baka was just a guy that was just fun to watch him and him and Okuma both uh being able to watch those guys go out their business I mean they’re just so uh they’re just so like dialed in the way they do things it’s very like methodical but also like on the attack you know just the way they pull apart a lineup is really cool to watch yeah watching both those guys is really special I’ve been able to uh to see some really special Japanese players over my career the sound that it makes off of his Bat like I remember the the walkoff the other day that line drive hit into right field it just sounded like it like an explosion when he hit it I think asking them their thought process on the splitter and how they learned the splitter and kind of when they started throwing the splitter I feel like [Music]
