Hello, this is Yamato. I made a camping bus by modifying a used route bus. Currently, my family and I are traveling around Japan with our cats on that bus. We would be happy if you could enjoy the scenery of Japan with us.

On this trip, I enjoyed the vast and nature-rich Kyushu region by bus. I would be happy if you could watch it until the end. First, we will take a public road and a toll road and go to a certain historical place. Kenji: The sea is beautiful!

It was relaxing to ride the bus along the coastline for a while. From here, we took the toll road to save time. arrival. I came to see what is commonly known as “Gunkanjima”. The name comes from the fact that when viewed from above, this island looks like a warship.

It once flourished due to its undersea coal mines, and Japan’s first high-rise apartment complex made of reinforced concrete was built, and in the 1960s it had a population density higher than that of Tokyo. The island is currently uninhabited since the island’s residents left the island in 1974 when the mine closed.

I went to a nearby dinosaur museum because my daughter loves dinosaurs. In fact, Nagasaki City is a city with deep connections to dinosaurs. My daughter likes dinosaurs, but she’s still afraid of anything that moves. lol Driving on the highway. Tonight, we will take a overnight break at a parking lot on the expressway.

My cat Choco always comes here when it’s time to cook. LOL He is looking for bonito flakes. LOL Tonight I am cooking a dish using meat. I decided to make “Sukiyaki”. It’s healthy with konnyaku noodles. It’s done. cheers! “itadakimasu” is delicious! Hazuki: Is beer juice?

Kenji: Beer is alcohol, so Hazuki can’t drink it yet. The next morning, we will get back on the highway and head to our next destination. I left Nagasaki Prefecture and came to see Mt. Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture. Hazuki: Wow! The mountain is big! ! Hazuki: I can’t see it!

Hazuki: I can see it! Hazuki: I can’t see it! Hazuki: I can see it! Mt. Aso and our bus. When you look around you, you will see vast nature. First, I went to the hot springs. When I came back from the hot springs, it was pitch dark.

There was a roadside station nearby so I decided to move there. It’s pitch black with no street lights, so I don’t know if this is really a roadside station, but it doesn’t seem to be a problem.

I’ve been traveling a lot lately, so I’m tired, so I decided to have some coffee, have a quick meal, and go to bed. Cook using frozen fried eggplant. Japanese frozen foods come in a variety of varieties and are very convenient. This is ginger. “itadakimasu” cheers! !

I can’t wait to see what kind of scenery I’ll see when I wake up tomorrow. My cat Choco was just ahead of me, looking at the scenery outside. My family is still sleeping, so I quietly check the scenery so as not to wake them up.

The conspicuous Mt. Yamaga Aso is right in front of you. Mt. Aso is a volcano. It is a large compound volcano with a caldera and is an active volcano.

During times of calm volcanic activity, you can get up close to the crater and take a tour, but if the activity increases or toxic gas is generated, access to the area is restricted. The waterwheel is very beautiful spring water. The morning sun is about to rise. The sun’s rays gradually illuminate Mt. Aso.

Breakfast while looking at Mt. Aso is the best. The next place we headed to was a very mysterious place. We arrived at the coast. It is a very strange sight to see many telephone poles lined up from the shore to the offshore. In fact, the road appears when the tide goes out.

I decided to wait until the tide went out to see if a path would really appear in the sea. After several hours. A road has really appeared out of the sea! As the tide receded further, a road appeared all the way offshore.

This place is called Nagabeda Kaitokoro, and it was built in 1979 for fishermen who farmed seaweed and collected shellfish. This is a sight unique to the Ariake Sea, which has a large tidal difference. There are 24 utility poles lined up in a distance of about 1km. The sunset seen from here was amazing.

Well, let’s move forward on this trip! Sogi Power Plant Ruins There is a red brick building that only appears from early summer to autumn. After walking on the mountain path for a while, I saw it.

This is the ruins of a hydroelectric power plant built in 1909 to supply power to the Ushio Okuchi Kanayama. Depending on the season, I imagined a power plant submerged in a lake. I thought I wouldn’t be able to see it because of the water level, but I’m glad I did.

This is hydroelectric power generation using the height of a waterfall. This is a picture of the water level depending on the season. You can see Sogi Falls from here. The remains of the Sogi power station mentioned earlier are hydroelectric power plants that utilize the drop of water from Sogi Falls.

Sogi Falls is also called the “Niagara of the East”. Downstream from here is the Sogi Power Plant. A stew dish using pumpkin and chicken. Cook the chicken to make it tender. Make slits in the konjac to allow the flavor to soak in more easily. Season with mirin and sugar. Complete. Kenji: It’s delicious!

Misaki: Pumpkins are sweet and delicious too! Hazuki: It’s jiggling. There was a hot spring footbath that was available 24 hours a day. After eating, my family and I took a relaxing footbath. The temperature of the hot spring is not so hot that you can stay in it for a long time. next morning.

It was very cold inside the car this morning. There is frost. I like snowy landscapes, but I also like frosty landscapes on cold mornings. There was also frost on the bumper of the bus. The sun is rising and warming, steam rising from the car. Now, let’s leave.

First, wash your clothes and recycle the cardboard you have accumulated. I dropped a piece of cardboard, but I picked it up and recycled it. The destination we are heading to today is Sakurajima. The mountain with smoke rising is Sakurajima.

Sakurajima, which is said to be the symbol of Kagoshima, is a composite active volcano that combines Kita-dake and Minami-dake, and is a rare volcano in the world that is still emitting smoke and raining ash. Misaki: Volcanoes are amazing! Hazuki: Is this a roadside station? Misaki: This is a roadside station.

Hazuki: There’s a hot spring here too! Misaki: Maybe it’s a footbath? It’s exciting to be able to see the volcano up close from here. This caldera was created by a huge eruption 29,000 years ago, and Sakurajima Volcano was born about 3,000 years later.

Tonight we will spend the night at a place where you can see the Sakurajima volcano. Tonight’s dish uses eggs and chicken. Soy sauce, mirin, dashi , mayonnaise , and rice were cooked fluffy. Cheers to “itadakimasu” . delicious. The fluffy eggs are delicious. good night. next morning.

You can clearly see Sakurajima Volcano from the bus. Smoke is still rising from Sakurajima volcano today. Many fishing boats have been heading to the sea since morning. Hazuki: Volcano, we’re heading there now! Today we will sneak into Sakurajima. Crossing this bridge is a lava road. This is a road paved with lava.

The volcano is getting closer and closer. Misaki: You can clearly see the smoke rising! Fine black volcanic ash was scattered on the road. You can take this ferry to the other side. Tsukiyomi Shrine is a historic shrine that is said to have been founded between 708 and 715.

I pray that you can continue your journey safely. The next day, we will go to Cape Sata, the southernmost tip of mainland Japan. This area has the atmosphere of a subtropical jungle.

When I was researching the route to Cape Sata, I noticed that there was one narrow tunnel, so I wasn’t sure if I could pass through it. Kenji: This tunnel! Since it is difficult to see ahead due to the curve, slowly check the road ahead to see if there is an oncoming vehicle.

Surprisingly, the tunnel was larger than it looked and had plenty of room. After driving for a while, you should arrive at your destination, Cape Sata. Arrived. Navigation: End voice guidance. A huge banyan tree stands out and catches your eye. “Cape Sata” Unfortunately it’s raining, but combined with that, it feels very historical.

It’s raining a lot today. Kenji: That’s called a banyan tree. Hazuki: Banyan! After passing through the tunnel, you can see the observation deck of Cape Sata. It was raining at the southernmost tip of mainland Japan, but it was still a beautiful and fond memory.

Tonight I’m going to make a simple Chinese dish with stir-fried pork, green peppers, and shiitake mushrooms. My daughter came to help. In Japan, due to the Firearms and Swords Act, you cannot carry very large knives. Cooked in oil , sake ginger, garlic soy sauce, and oyster sauce are ready. “itadakimasu”

Thank you for the meal. I bought Sakurajima radish, a specialty of Sakurajima, and tried making it into a pickle. And speaking of Kagoshima Prefecture, it is the “Maou” of shochu. Sakurajima radish and “Maou” go well together. Kenji: Good taste and easy to drink!

Sakurajima daikon radish has a firm texture and is very delicious. It has been raining intermittently since this morning. next morning. The rain since yesterday has increased in intensity and continues to fall. On a day like this, don’t rush, take your time and drink your coffee.

By the way, looking at the weather forecast, it looks like another cold wave that will bring snow is coming. In general, you should think carefully about the route of your upcoming bus journey. That’s it for this trip. See you again on our next trip.
