  1. The "work" pressure that caused employee deaths does not stem from the volume of work but from the stress of having to pretend that you are working when there is no work to be done. Try that out for a couple of months and see how psychologically affected you become from pretence and hollowness..

  2. I developed an illness and had to stop working. I had pain each day all over my body, but still I worked until my Doctor said no more. I had Fentanyl patches AND pain killers, and still I had pain. My Husband is the most wonderful man on the face of the earth. He took on extra hours, we lived on a strict budget. I was so relieved that he was finally able to retire because I saw the effect it had on him. It’s awful to feel like you have to do the hours without compensation.

  3. cooperation all over the world is cancer. When I visisted Japan the happiest people were those who had their own little shops and I always visited them and greeted them, old and middle aged people, I loved them all. Cooperation will suck the life out of you with pleasure.

  4. Karoshi problem wouldn't happen in Japan if the country allowed workers to form labour unions, and their federal government had tougher labour standards laws.

  5. I dont really get the logic where ingrain working culture of overtime is good for long term growth of both company and employee. The one benefitted from this is just shareholders at most.

  6. In Denmark this culture is not only uncommon, but extremely penalised if companies and/or its management are found encouraging it or trying to enforce it.

  7. Wow, and I though that in US you have to work your ass of. And at least they pay me for overtime. 😳

  8. Do they not have labor laws in Japan? It’s common sense that your ability to function decreases with lack of sleep and self care. Wtf

  9. Africa is the only Continent on earth knowing what it is doing.

Working to death is abuse and pure poverty. Nothing to emulate.

  10. 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

    Matthew 11:28-30

  11. Slavery is real, in fact it never went away. But you cannot just blame the employer, the government. It is the people who allowed this to happen by not standing up; by remaining silent.

  12. After viewing this documentary It's sad that companies expect so much from their employee's but Mexico is number one in Global Statistics on the hardest workers that work the most.

  13. This is insane. It should be illegal to treat people this way.

The corporations making this horrible reality for people should also be held accountable. They need to answer for this.

  14. Japan is truly screwed, no wonder the birthrate has now reached emergency levels. The country will collapse in 20 years

  15. What's the point of doing overtime if you are not going to get paid??!! And 100 + hours of overtime that is insane! Japan should really change their work ethics and culture.

  16. How is this Karoshi seen as admirable or to be aspired to? And if you work that long aren't you neglecting your family and personal life?

  17. Thank god we have labor laws here in the states. You can't expect someone to work extra without paying them extra.

  18. Japanese companies are slowly falling off the grid…. Even after a decade of economic standstill, Japan still never learns…..
