Hi everyone! This is Non from nonnoroom! 🌷 I currently live in a 50-year-old Japanese-style room. Since the room tour video I posted in March, I’ve added a sofa and a few other things, so I thought I’d update it today! I’ll be introducing some items I didn’t go into detail about in my previous video, and I ‘ve done quite a bit of DIY, so I’ll be explaining in detail what I did and what the room looked like originally, so I hope you’ll stay with me until the end ! I’ll also be sharing as much about where I bought things as possible in the video, but since most of my items can be found on Rakuten, I’ve basically compiled all the items for my room on my Rakuten ROOM . If you’re curious about where I bought something, I’ll leave a link to my Rakuten ROOM in the description, so please check it out. Let’s start the room tour . First, I’ll introduce my favorite zone in the house . It’s in a corner of the Japanese-style room, where I keep the moon lamp, my paintings, and my potted plants. The houseplants, from the left, are a ficus, a banyan in the middle, and a pachira on the far right. All of the plants have grown so much since I bought them, and I feel so much love for them.I repotted them in June of this year and tried to film a video of the process at the time, but I could n’t find the time to edit it, so it got scrapped. So, I’d like to offer a portion of that video here as a memorial. This is how I repotted them , and next to it is a picture I drew myself.I tried some texture art , adding bumps and glitter. I didn’t really think about it, but it created an atmosphere that suits my home and I’m displaying it as interior decor. Here ‘s another painting I drew myself.I drew a picture of anemones at Claire Base, a shop that offers craft experiences.I did my best, but the finished product was completely different to the sample, which made me realize I’m really bad at drawing (lol). It feels like it’s lacking some depth. If I have the chance again, I’d like to try my best to draw another picture. There’s also one other thing I made, this pink tile tray (board).Actually , this pink tile tray (board) was originally the same board as the board used in this painting. How to make it is explained in detail in this video , but here’s what it looks like when it’s made. It’s actually quite easy to make, so if you’d like, I encourage you to give it a try. Let’s go back a bit and introduce this zone. I bought this pink vase at a second-hand clothing store in Kyoto . I fell in love with it at first sight the moment I found it in Kyoto, and there were two other things I fell in love with at first sight at the same time , but there was something about this one that made me feel like I had to buy it at that exact moment . I could have bought it online, but for some reason I bought it on the spot and brought it back from Kyoto to Tokyo , and I remember that. This diffuser is from SHIRO. It’s a diffuser called Fruit Bouquet, a scent exclusive to SHIRO’s factory in Hokkaido. It has a really nice scent, and I’ve bought the refill and am enjoying it, but that will soon run out, so I’m thinking about what to do with my next diffuser . This bear is from BEAMS.Its color matches the orange of my house perfectly , so I was thrilled when I found it and before I knew it, I had bought it straight away. The chair these things are standing on is from IKEA.It also comes in yellow-green and purple, which are really cute, but we chose the orange one.We only have a few chairs in our house, so we use this chair when friends come over. The shelf where I keep these books is probably originally intended for outdoor use and is foldable. The books I have on it are all different, including books by friends I made friends with on Instagram, books from Amana’s Weird House series, and also, when I was on leave last year, I was struggling with low self-esteem, so I have books to help with that. I also like mystery novels, so I have some of my favorite mystery novels there. This was my favorite zone in the Japanese-style room . Above my favorite zone I also have my favorite light. This is a moon-shaped light that can change the shape of the moon . I like crescent moons, so I always shine it in this way, but I can also hide it completely. There are two windows in the Japanese-style room, and on this side there are blinds and on this side there are two layers of lace curtains. These blinds are the type that can be attached to a curtain rail . They were quite long, about 2.3m wide , but I ordered them from a blind and curtain shop on Rakuten that can make orders even in that length. At night, I sometimes use a projector to project onto the blind curtains here , and I really like them because they’re stylish and practical . These curtains are from MUJI, which I think has probably been discontinued, but I bought one from MUJI and the other from La Caph, a select shop that carries Korean items . I’ve been using both of these curtains since I started living alone about 4 or 5 years ago. The windows in the house I lived in 4 or 5 years ago were quite high, so the curtains were long and now hang down like this . I’ve been missing out on this because I think there are stylish things like this . This is what caught my eye just now. This is a fan with an unusual shape. I got it on Mercari, and the square fan blades, the pink color of the neck, and the light blue, or should I say light blue, of the buttons are really cute, and I thought it had to match this space, so even though it was a little pricey, I ended up buying it. It has the feel of old-fashioned buttons and dials, and I use it like this . It’s so cute, so cute. This is an item I’d like to show off to everyone. On the other side of my favorite zone, I have a mattress like this. I’ve also prepared my futon for summer, and the comforter is a soft blanket that feels really nice against the skin . The pillowcases and sheets are from MUJI, and I use the mattress . The mattress is a tri-fold mattress, but I use an inari type tofu mattress.Right now I have the mattress laid out like when I sleep, but during the day it looks like this, with some kind of belt sticking out and I leave it standing like this and it gets stuffy, so I let it evaporate. At the back of the futon there is a closet and there is also storage above, so it is a storage space that can hold quite a lot of things. It ‘s a little dirty right now so I won’t show you inside, but in this video I show you the entire contents of the closet , so if you’re interested please take a look at this video. There isn’t much space to hang hangers in this house , so I put up some kamoi hooks that I bought at Daiso and hang my hangers there.I use kamoi hooks quite all over the place , like this, and I also use them to store bags. These are the tote bags and drawstring pouches I made at the Bark Shop I attended the other day. They’re so cute! I moved a little and am now outside the Japanese-style room. There was originally a sliding door between the Japanese-style room and the Western-style room, but I wanted to use it as a larger one-room apartment, so I DIYed and made a shelf like this . The detailed steps for making this shelf are summarized in this video . Here’s a quick look at the process. It didn’t seem too difficult , so I think anyone could make it, so if you’re interested, give it a try . Here are some of the things I have on hand . These are Marshall speakers. The bass sound quality is really good, and listening to them really lifts your spirits. This is the rope light . When it’s turned on, it looks like this . It’s a little bright, It may be hard to understand, but there is a separate switch that allows you to adjust the color and brightness, making it a very convenient light.Since it is a rope, you can change the shape freely and I think it would look stylish if you hung it in different places , so if I ever change my interior again, I would like to hang it in different places and enjoy different shapes. This is Miffy (her real name is Daan), who has been with me since I first lived on my own.She is the only one I have taken with me through life. This is a tulip-shaped glass I bought at Francfranc.I am afraid that it will move if it is shaken, so I have fixed it with clear, strong tape. This is a Hobonichi daily calendar, but since it is already August, I haven’t turned the page in over a month, and I’m not good at turning the pages of a daily calendar … Below that, I keep my cameras. It ‘s been so hot recently that I haven’t been able to go out and take photos at all, so I’d like to go and take some photos soon . Furthermore, below that, I have books that I’m planning to read , but those who watched the previous video may have noticed, but the lineup hasn’t changed since then. I haven’t been able to read any books at all, so I’m hoping to spend more time reading a little. This is where I keep my lip balm and hand cream that I use before going to bed. This plate is from Flying Tiger, and this case is ceramic, made by Kaneko Ryo. It’s so cute, and I love it. This zone is decorated in a pink and green style. I mentioned earlier that there used to be a sliding door where this shelf used to be, and I’ve replaced that sliding door with peel-and-stick wallpaper to create an interior board. I use it in a casual way. I was thinking it would be nice to put up flyers of my favorite artists here, and although I only have two up, I’d like to put up whatever I like. The cute, sparkly mobile next to it was purchased at a pop-up of an artist (naproom) that I came across on Threads. The moment I found it, I thought it was so cute that I thought it was fate, and two days later I went to the pop-up. I also have other items, so I’ll introduce them later. The sofa I was sitting on at the beginning is usually kept in this space. This sofa is called LOOSY. It’s a very comfortable sofa with a bead cushion that fits your body, and since this sofa came into my home, I’ve fallen asleep on it much more often. I really think it’s a sofa that ruins people. The corduroy cover is also very comfortable, and I chose orange as I thought it would be the best color for my house , but there are about 24 different colors to choose from, so if I have the opportunity I’d like to try a different cover and enjoy a different, more unique interior design . I’m planning on buying this sofa . I’ve included a link to buy it and a coupon code for 500 yen off in the description. Next to it, I made this tile table at the same time as the pink tile tray I mentioned earlier. It ‘s a simple setup: just glue tiles to an IKEA sectional table. You can create your own table in any color you like . Feel free to try it out. On the other side, I’ve attached this cat clock and a wall-mounted shelf from MUJI . The cat clock has moving eyes and a moving tail. I saw it displayed in a room in a TV drama called 1122 (Good Couple) and thought it was cute, so I did some research and bought it. It ‘s made of plastic , so it doesn’t seem very durable, but it was quite expensive at around 10,000 yen . But you can’t beat how cute it is. On the shelf at MUJI next to it is a flower vase made of building blocks that I bought from the same artist as the mobile mentioned earlier. I really love tulips, so I was determined to buy it. On the shelf below that is Palo Santo. It’s on a swan-shaped plate , clipped to a paperclip. It has the kind of scent that makes you want to wear it on a rainy day – the smell of burning wood, but it’s a really soothing scent. Below that is an illustration by Moshimoshimo and a houseplant called a Dolphin Necklace. This antique-looking chair was also purchased on Mercari. This is my relaxation zone. Next to it is a large plant. A friend gave me this plant last year, and it has grown so much. I think its name is Alocasia wendtii . It’s unfamiliar to me, so I can’t remember it. Leaves come out quickly, and this is the most recent one. The leaves have a nice pattern and are beautiful . I have vertical blinds on the windows in my new living room. I don’t think it’s recommended to attach them to a curtain rail, but I thought it would be fine, so I did. A year has passed, and the curtain rail doesn’t seem to be warped, so I’m still using them without any problems. The wind chimes hanging on this window are jellyfish wind chimes. When it gets this hot, I never open the window, so I don’t get to hear the sound of these wind chimes very often, but just having them on display makes me feel cool, so I keep them as interior decor. I got these as a hometown tax donation in Niigata , but it seems they’re no longer available as a return gift for hometown tax donations, so unfortunately I can’t introduce them to you. You can hear a sound like this, and next to it is Queen Elizabeth. ” Hello,” she says , always looking down from above and waving. This is what it looks like. There ‘s a solar panel attached to the back. So, even if you don’t put batteries in, when the weather is nice it will wave its hands. I’ve come to rely on it a bit. Summer incense and flower candle. This candle came as a free gift when I bought Korean shampoo . Behind it I have a WoodWick candle . This is a candle that makes the sound of a bonfire. Originally it was up to this point and I use it this much, but I use it when I want to be soothed at night . This is a cluttered corner where I put whatever I like however I like. I stick things I like on the wall , and on this IKEA perforated board I put stationery that I often use and cute decorations . I like Coji Coji, so I hang a keychain that I got from a Coji Coji capsule machine . This spinning one is by Mata Design . When I turn on a fan or something, it spins around with the wind and it’s so soothing every day. I use this desk both for eating and working. It’s an IKEA desk with a bamboo top and white steel legs, and it blends in with the interior and is a convenient size, so I like it . However, I feel like eating here is a bit boring, so I’m thinking about buying a round table . This chair is an office chair, but it comes in a wide variety of colors, including white, pink, light blue, and this green. It’s comfortable to sit on and doesn’t tire your back at all, so I recommend it. Let’s go to the other side. This is a place like a dresser. This house is 50 years old and doesn’t have a separate sink, so I created this space to serve as a separate sink. There is indirect lighting here, and a foot-operated light. Next to it is some texture art , similar to the one in the Japanese-style room . This was painted by my partner, and I painted the sky, but his was an abstract design, and I remember thinking how different designs can be from person to person. There’s also a space here to put incense, and this plate is a Francfranc plate, but I’m using it in combination with this incense holder as an incense plate. I think I’ll light some now, and I’m going to burn this APFR scent here . I ‘ve hidden the lighter behind here, and it’s a fireless lighter, so I feel a little more at ease . This is how I burn incense whenever I want to feel soothed. Then , shifting it to the side, this light is battery-operated, so it doesn’t need an outlet , but the way to hang it from above is to insert a hook into the ceiling so it can be hung from there and display it. I’ve stuck APFR incense in this vase . This vase was also bought at the same time as the vase in the Japanese-style room, which seems to have been bought in Kyoto , and it’s heavy, but I managed to bring it home. This is the perfume zone. My favourite is Diptyque’s EAU ROSE , and a perfume I bought recently is Tamburins’ BLUE. The scent called HINOKI. I thought it smelled nice, but I also bought it purely for the packaging, as it has a turtle on it. Isn’t it super cute? I chose a marine-style perfume because I thought it would be perfect for summer. The NONFICTION perfumes are stored in an ashtray. I also bought this ashtray on Mercari, but I was actually imagining it to be smaller, so it’s about this size . I was planning to store smaller accessories in it, but it was bigger than I imagined, so I’m using it as a perfume holder. In the end… is it good? There’s a button on this plate right now , and I always keep the ring I’m wearing. This ring is a black diamond ring, and I bought it as a commemorative gift when I turned 30. It was expensive, but I think it was a great purchase. I think the thoughts put into this stone are wonderful, and when I wear it, it makes me feel stronger. The chair I have here is one that hurts my butt if I sit on it for a long time. I chose this chair so that it would look like it could be used in conjunction with this IKEA shelf. In the IKEA shelf, I keep skin care products and hair dryers, and over here, I keep tissues and various other things. I keep all sorts of things in them. They’re both a little dirty so I won’t show them this time, but they have a huge capacity so I recommend them to homes with a lot of stuff. This shelf has a lock, so I don’t use the key, but I thought I might as well put in some cute charms I got from a capsule machine. I really love the game Katamari Damacy and I’m a prince, so isn’t this really cute? I want to spend the rest of my life playing Katamari Damacy on my PlayStation 2. Finally , I’ve come to the corner between the kitchen and the entrance . I leave the Japanese-style room and connect to the living room (Western-style room) and kitchen, but the floors of the living room (Western-style room) and kitchen are white like this . This wasn’t originally a white floor, it was brown. There was a thick cushion floor laid down, but I did some DIY and laid white tiles on top of it I’d like to introduce the bathroom (dressing room) area The bathroom (dressing room) looks like this, with a washing machine and storage space built above the washing machine I started using a drum washing machine for the first time since moving into this house, but I’m really grateful to be able to use the dryer and it ‘s extremely useful I use a Panasonic CUBE drum washing machine, which of course looks good but doesn’t get too hot so it doesn’t damage clothes as much and I heard that it doesn’t make the room too hot so I bought this I chose the washing machine and the storage above it , which is the best looking of all the ones I’ve found , plus it’s not too expensive, so I think it’s a really good product and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for storage above a washing machine. I highly recommend it. The basket in the middle comes with the storage, and the other baskets are ones I bought myself, but you can adjust the width and hang hangers on top so you can hang towels and such. It’s a little hard to see, but there’s also a woven section on the side , so you can hang hooks there and SG hooks here too, so it’s a storage that’s easy to reach . I’m sorry that it has a very lived-in feel to it, but it’s a storage space that I would recommend. One thing that makes it seem like it’s 50 years old is that there’s no drain underneath , so I have to run the hose out into the bathroom every time and let the water drain into the bathroom . This is a bit of a pain, but I’ve been doing it for over a year now and I’ve gotten used to it. I live alone so I didn’t think I needed it, but I installed a tension rod and curtains just in case. These curtains are from IKEA, but they were too long, so I asked my mother to help me cut them to length, sewed them, and modified them myself. Next, I’d like to take a look at the bathroom. As those of you who have been looking at the bathroom before know, It has a really old-fashioned feel to it, and the floor is tiled… Some people say it’s nice, but when I first saw it, I thought it looked a little old and unpleasant. Also, because it’s old, there are no ventilation lines, so we’ve been doing our best to prevent mold by using very thin blades . We have so many shampoos that it would take a family of several people, but we don’t have anywhere to put them, so we put them on the windowsill. This is supposed to be the sink , but it’s so hard to use that we almost never use it. There ‘s also storage space behind it . When I take a bath, I always put my smartphone in this smartphone case , and when I’m in the tub, I angle it like this, pointing it towards me, so I can watch videos. When I take a shower, I watch videos while I’m showering like this. This case is also surprisingly convenient and recommended. Next, I’d like to go to the bathroom. The bathroom has a window, but it faces west, so it’s really hot . A really stuffy breeze is coming out. This is my favorite zone in the bathroom . I removed the existing toilet paper holder and installed a paper holder that can be installed even in rental properties. On top of that, I put a book so I can read a magazine or a book when I’m bored in the bathroom. This daily calendar has been turned over properly, and today is August 3rd. This calendar – There’s just too much information, but there’s so much that it’s quite interesting.I can’t remember anything, but at the time I think, “Hmm.” I’d like to buy another one next year.As for this toilet, the current floor is a concrete-style floor, but I did this myself.Originally it was the same light blue tile as the walls , but I didn’t like that it made the toilet look a little old, so I put the same sheeting at the entrance , but with a concrete-style one.I have a video of this DIY project as well , so please take a look to see how I did it.That ‘s how I did it myself. This is a 50-year-old toilet. I personally like the bathroom. Next, I’d like to move on to the kitchen. I don’t think there’s much to say about the kitchen , but I’ll start from the edge. The stove was an afterthought, and this one in the circle is a Rinnai gas stove. I bought and installed it myself . I don’t cook that much , but I bought a slightly more expensive one purely for looks , but it was a great decision as it creates a really cute atmosphere and makes cooking fun . You can also get quite a strong flame. This pot is really cute and I love it. When I posted a room tour last time, I think, there was a comment like, ” This pot is cute, but why don’t you explain anything about it ?” and I was like, sorry, but this pot is from a Korean brand called BETTER FINGER. I came across this pot when I was watching a vlog by a Korean person on Instagram and thought it was really cute, so I did a lot of image searching and found it on Qoo10, and I bought it on Qoo10. I also have oval pots and frying pans, and the lids are really cute like this. Moving over to the side, I don’t use a dish basket, so I put a Georg Jensen towel here to dry my dishes. I have a Russell Hobbs grinding mill , what’s it called? A mill. I can’t remember the name, haha. I put salt and pepper in this . It’s backlit so it’s hard to see, but this is dish soap and this is hand soap, both of which I started using recently. YOPE? This is the brand name… I think it’s called Yope? It’s a natural product made in Poland , and I chose it because I wanted to have something cute in my kitchen. It smells nice and is comfortable to use. It’s a little pricey, but this is my kitchen. Those milk cartons often appear in my kitchen sink, and what they are for is that I use them to put food waste in. Milk cartons don’t leak smells easily, so after I’ve finished drinking the milk, I don’t crush or open the carton, I let it dry out, and then I use it as a food waste container. I’ve gotten into the routine of throwing out all my food waste once or twice a week, and it’s really like a wisdom for life, and it was like a rule at my parents’ house, but… It’s super convenient, so give it a try! Moving next to it, it’s the coffee and tea space. This shelf is from IKEA and can be customized in many ways . I store dishes and a full stock of tea here . I have so much tea I can’t drink it all. This is crazy , this is getting a bit haphazard… I’m sorry. If you have any questions , please leave a comment! Most of the products are listed on Rakuten ROOM, but if you think it’s too haphazard, I’ll make another video , so I’ll focus on that next time, so please let me know in the comments! It’s been about four hours since I started filming … It’s taking so long because I’m tidying up as I go , but I was just complaining. Sorry. That’s about it. The kitchen. Next, let’s move on to the entrance. There’s a space like this next to the entrance. Right now, this space next to it isn’t being utilized at all, so there’s enough space for me to sleep comfortably by myself . I think I’ll take a nap . It’s just right. It’s so spacious that I could sleep here , and about four people of my height could sleep there (lol). There’s that much space, but I haven’t used it for over a year, so I’m thinking about putting a round table here and using it for work and meals. Wouldn’t that make it look more like a dining room? Since this is a one-bedroom, one-kitchen kitchen, I want to make effective use of this dining space . I’ll keep the fun a little in check. I showed this hidden area in my last storage-focused room tour, so if you’re interested , check out that video . It’s a space that can hold a lot of stuff . My vacuum cleaner, rice cooker, dehumidifier, and other items are all kept here . Next to this is the other sliding door between the Japanese-style room and the living room . I’ve put up blue wallpaper here and printed some photos I’ve taken . As it’s close to the bathroom, the photos have started to curl up due to the humidity, but I mainly put up photos that I took with a film cameraThe space next to it is a cute space and it’s also one of my favourite zonesIt’s pretty much put together with primary colours like pink and green , and the orange is an accent colour which looks greatThis mirror is a Flying TigerThere ‘s also a Teletubbies flower vase that I got from a gachapon machineThis one was bought in Kyoto, and the third one is an antique flower vase that I bought from another online shopThese were Yokoyama Mai and 0129…! It’s a collaboration item with a tufting shop , and I won it when I entered a campaign.I love cream soda so much so I was really happy.I’m definitely going to cherish this and display it forever. This was a souvenir I bought at Disneyland – I bought it for the packaging. It’s in the same tin that snacks used to come in, and it’s designed like a tomato can, so it’s really cute. This diffuser is also by SHIRO , and it’s a little pricey at about 10,000 yen for a refill , but it smells great and I really like it.It’s a beautiful woman who gives off such a lovely scent that it’s no exaggeration to say that I’m sure to get compliments from people who come over to my house . Lol. The next one is finally here, the last zone: the entrance. This is what it looks like from above. The floor I mentioned in the bathroom earlier is this. I used the same flooring sheet as the bathroom floor . I even DIYed the edges here, sticking masking tape on them myself. The hook next to it is a wall-mounted piece of furniture from MUJI. In the summer, I hang my cap, headphones , and bag here, but in the winter , I use it to hang my coats. I’ve stuck a lot of things on the front door. The magnets are these: I attached stickers I received to magnetic sheets like the ones you can buy at Daiso , cut them into shapes, and used them like sticker tricks. Below that, this is a shoehorn. There’s a special place for it to be attached with a magnet , but it tends to come off easily if it’s hit, so I just stick it directly on the door. It’s not really that useful… I also used a magnetic umbrella stand so it can be used in a small space. What did you think of the room tour? Sorry, I got a little tired towards the end , so I skipped a lot . However, last time, we started from the entrance, and by the time we got to the Japanese-style room , the explanations were probably getting a bit rough, so I think the two videos combined feel like one piece. So, if you feel like the second half is a bit rough or a bit hard to understand, please feel free to ask for more details in the comments , or if you watch the March video , I’m sure it will help a lot. It’s gotten a bit rambling , but thank you so much to everyone who’s watched this long video !
