In episode 546, artist Hikaru Utada returns to THE FIRST TAKE.
Utada will perform “First Love”, the beloved title track from the best-selling album in Japanese history. The song continues to be loved by people across countries and generations, even 26 years after its release.
Enjoy this special one-shot performance with Kei Kawano―the music producer who arranged the trackーaccompanying on piano. It’s the first time since the release that they’re performing it together in this special arrangement.

  3. this felt like hearing it for the first time again. indescribable. really is one of the best songs ever written and performed by a once in a lifetime talent. i hope in 600 years kids are reading about utada hikaru in their textbooks. idk why, but every time i hear this song, i cry.

This is so emotional and just perfect 😭 Hikaru Utada is the reason I fell in love with Japanese music and culture and went through my teenage years and adulthood feeling like someone I didn’t even speak the language actually knew how I felt and made everything special and unique. Such a great artist and beautiful song. Lots of love from your fans in France 🇫🇷 😭😭😭 we will never forget you and we love you, always!!
