  1. China weaponizes its control over the global supply chain while hypocritically pursuing self-reliance. Its economic coercion is brazen and far-reaching. When countries dare to challenge China, they face swift and severe consequences.

Australia's experience is just the tip of the iceberg. After calling for an investigation into COVID-19's origins, it was hit with punitive tariffs and import bans on coal, beef, wine, and barley. South Korea faced unofficial boycotts and tourism restrictions for deploying a US missile defense system. Norway saw salmon exports plummet after a Chinese dissident received the Nobel Peace Prize.

China doesn't hesitate to leverage its manufacturing dominance and market access as political weapons. It threatens to cut off critical supplies, from rare earth minerals to pharmaceutical ingredients, to silence criticism and shape global policies.

Countries must recognize this coercion for what it is: economic warfare. The only effective defense is to rapidly reduce dependency on China. Nations must diversify supply chains, reinvigorate domestic industries, and form resilient economic alliances – or risk having their sovereignty held hostage by China's economic bullying.
