Melo – SANTANA (Official Music Video)

Following the release of the lead single “Bound” from the second half of his 2024 album, Melo brings us the second single, “SANTANA”. Unlike his usual fierce style, this time Melo chooses to quiet down and let an old Santana car speak, narrating the stories it has witnessed over the years.

A car, a person — the man is the car, and the car is the man. The three verses recount the short life of the car as a tool and the three different stages of a person’s life — from using cheap 92-octane gasoline to regular 95-octane gasoline to not needing fuel at all, from idleness to running around to wealth and prosperity. “He carries himself and his former self, saying that life always has its mundane and thrilling moments; he says that the one who will never betray me is you, and I understand what he is thinking.” The man who strives for success finally makes his fortune, and the car that accompanied him through it all eventually returns to the garage.

Cars come and go, people come and go, and the bittersweet experiences of the journey can only be swallowed alone. This car drives not only through busy streets but also through the long journey of life.
